Explanation of the development of the deep-drawn
sheet steel brake pistons:

Aims of the development were:   Results of the development are:
1. Weight reduction
    (without loss of rigidity)
arrow 25% and the same component rigidity achieved via design conforming to the strain and new material.
2. Function guarantee
    (through process reliability)
arrow Achieved through changing the material from grey cast iron to ductile and homogeneous sheet steel of the quality St W 24 (DD13).
3. Value-analytical
     future potential
arrow Achieved through using the latest metal forming technologies that can also be enhanced, along with process sequences that can be extended through to full automation.
4. More environmentally
    friendly
arrow Achieved by substituting the previous casting production with „clean“, energy-saving steel sheet cold forming.
